World Cup 2014 - Semi-finals

Four semi-finalists, one dream: winning the World Cup.

Either Brazil, Germany, Argentina or the Netherlands will lift the famous trophy on July 13, but having the chance to do so means emerging through the semi-finals.

This is what the World Cup is all about.

The semi-finals will only keep the surge alive. Brazil and Germany present an intriguing defensive showdown, while the duel between Netherlands and Argentina is sure to provide plenty of scoring chances.

Brasil vs. Germany: Can Brazil go through to the finals with two key players out of contention or will the Germans embrace their domination and stride forward to the World Cup glory that awaits them? It’s only a matter of time before the whistle blows and with the exciting thrillers we’ve seen thus far, everyone’s gearing up for what might be an amazing end for one of these two nations. This game might be a very high scoring game, seeing the hunger in both teams to go all the way. Klose to score his record breaker is something everybody expect Brazilians will look forward to, keeping legend Ronaldo in their mind. ( 3-2 )

Netherlands vs. Argentina: Holland have been playing with 5-2-3 formation in the world cup so and lately Dirk Kuyt played as right full back and Van Gaal might go with the same system as this has proven quite fruitful so far. Argentina on the other hand depend massively on Lionel Messi and this might just be his year to lead his team to glory. Argentina has played brilliantly as a defensive unit in the last two knockout games keeping two clean sheets and if they can repeat that against Holland surely Messi can get them a goal or two. I like Holland and they are treat to watch going forward with Robben running circles around defenders and he has been the best player in the world cup by far. It is pretty much a Messi-v-Robben game and who ever come on top will lead his team to 2014 finals. ( 1-2 )

World Cup 2014 - Quarter-Final Power Rankings

If you've already had enough excitement from the 2014 World Cup, then the knockout stage isn't for you.

The round of 16 isn't for the weak of heart. Things can change in an instant during this round, as one goal is the difference between advancing to the next round or going home empty-handed. The knockout round is unforgiving.

This is what the World Cup is all about.

That said, the benefits of watching the knockout stage are countless. For one, we'll see even more emotional play in this round than we did in the fantastic group stage. The sport's brightest stars also step up in the biggest spots, meaning we could see some stellar performances from the likes of Neymar, Lionel Messi and others.

You don't want to miss a single minute of the action in this round, even if you think you've already reached your limit based on the incredible play in the first round of this tournament.

Brasil vs. Colombia: Colombia has been one of the more impressive teams so far in the World Cup, dispatching a solid Uruguay squad 2-0 in the round of 16.That has not dissuaded oddsmakers from making Colombia a big underdog against a host Brazil squad that has yet to play its best football. Colombia will win this match and send Brazil packing. (1-2)

France vs. Germany: Germany has made it to the World Cup semifinals three straight times, and they are the betting favorite to do so again facing France. Still, the German giant has looked less than impressive in their last three matches. France got off to a great start in the World Cup, but they have also not looked great in the last couple of matches. Germany is the favorite, but the French may be playing better and have more confidence. In a clash of two of Europe’s top soccer nations, the Germans have more resolve to keep their string of World Cup semifinal appearances intact. (2-3)

Netherlands vs. Costa Rica: Costa Rica has been the big surprise of the tournament so far, winning the Group of Champions and then beating Greece on penalty kicks in the round of 16. Costa Rica will play great defense again but will miss Duarte's presence. The Dutch are close enough to have a sniff of completing the job they narrowly failed to finish in 2010. (2-1)

Argentina vs. Belgium: Argentina and Belgium have not convinced at all in the World Cup so far. La Albiceleste required the prodigious skills of Lionel Messi to see them through the group stage. Messi scored in all group stage games, and twice at the very end of games. For Belgium, things are much trickier. Tactics wise, coach Marc Wilmots has been very smart and lucky with his substitutions thus far in the tournament, as almost all of them managed to bag goals. Wilmots should keep up his squad rotation and hope it works against Argentina. They will play out a 1-1 draw, and Argentina will win on penalties.

World Cup 2014 - Knockout Stages

If you've already had enough excitement from the 2014 World Cup, then the knockout stage isn't for you.

Netherlands vs. Mexico: This match will be competitive, but it's hard to deny the striking ability of the Dutch.

Brazil vs. Chile: It's extraordinarily difficult to pick against the team with home-country advantage, but I wouldn't be surprised if Chile stunned the entire World Cup and moved on to the quarterfinals.

Argentina vs. Switzerland: Messi is over anybody in the sport right now!

France vs. Nigeria: Even though Nigeria will match France well, it will be difficult for the African team to stop the European giant which is going to score more.

Colombia vs. Uruguay: Without Suarez, Uruguay are just not quite the same side in attack and Colombia should have enough to deservedly make it to the last eight.

Germany vs. Algeria: Even though the past records indicate otherwise, Algeria will turn out to be feeble against the German team which will win it 4-1.

Costa Rica vs. Greece: This may not be one of the most exciting matches, with two staunch defenses set to play it safe. In that type of match, expect the more talented squad to eventually break through, and that would be Costa Rica.

Belgium vs. USA: If Hazard and his fellow attacking midfielders can be shut down, not an easy job by any means but the type that the Americans should relish, then the U.S. has a real chance to match their achievement of 2002.

“Recientemente alojamos a Justin Bieber y Rihanna.
